With more than twenty years of experience practicing law, much of which was devoted to handling civil litigation and professional matters, Reed is an extremely valuable member of the Heaton & Associates team of attorneys and business consultants.
For nearly ten years she practiced in the civil litigation department of a fairly well known litigation firm where her primary focus was on a successful lawsuit in federal court on behalf of over 100 employees of a well known appliance manufacturer. Her clients were exposed to toxic chemicals that had been provided to the plant. The matter involved years of pre-trial motions and discovery, including more than 500 depositions.
Immediately prior to joining the Heaton & Associates team, Reed spent several years with another firm where she handled transactional matters, such as forming business entities and estate planning.
When not hard at work, Reed will most likely be spending time with her very active family; or, you might find her at the Foundation for Immigrant Resources and Education in St. Paul. She has a passion for languages and is a competent Spanish speaker and continues to pursue Greek. She also happens to be a certified teacher of ESL (English as a Second Language) to immigrants so it is not uncommon to see her with others who are working hard to become fluent with the English language.
